Julia's Blessing

We had Julia's blessing on November 4, 2012. I know, I know this is a late post and I really don't have an excuse other than just being lazy. But moving on...
Mackay gave Julia a name and a blessing and it was a wonderful experience. The blessing was very short but the Spirit was very strong. It is wonderful having a husband who is worthy and can exercise the priesthood for our family.
After church we had a luncheon at the hotel Mackay's family was staying at. It was wonderful to mingle with family and friends that were able to come. We missed those that couldn't come. Especially Grandma and Grandpa Foster. But we felt their love for us.
Here are a few pictures from the luncheon that afternoon.

Julia was hungry and upset to be taking pictures.
Four generations!
Can you see that family resemblance?
What a ham!
My baby and me!
Mom let me suck on my fingers!!!

We love our little Julia! I don't know what we did without here. We love you baby girl!

Henry

Me: Henry stop picking your nose. That is yucky!
Henry: (Eats booger.) No, Mom, it's yummy.
Me: Oh Henry...

Henry: (Picks his nose and offers it to me.) Want some?

Oh Henry, maybe someday you will stop picking your nose...

Henry: Cookies! (Opens the tin.) Oh they'er all gone. Grandpa Foster eat them all.

3.
Me: Henry it is time to go.
Henry: No Mom 3 more mintoos.
Me: Haha ok Henry you can have 3 more minutes!

4.
Me: Henry can you go get your pajamas?
Henry: Oh uhhh I in time out mommy.
Me: Oh really you are in time out?
Henry: Uhh yeah I hit Julia, I in time out.
Haha nice try kid :)

Thanksgiving Count Down 22

I have been trying to get better at being grateful for all the blessings I have. So I thought doing a count down to Thanksgiving with a blessing a day would be perfect.

I am so thankful for little Julia's smile! She brightens up my day even when she is being a stinker!

What things are you thankful for?

Halloween

Let me tell you I hate everything about Halloween... except dressing little kids up and trick or treating. Especially when they are my own children! For the past week or two Henry has been dancing around the house in his costume singing "Happy Halloween." And yes that is his own tune, he is going to be a song writer someday :)

Is there a cuter Mickey out there?

Look at my tail :)

Our little Mickey and Minnie!!!
Henry had so much fun Trick or Treating! Watching him run down the street with that little tail wagging was one of the cutest things I have ever seen! Thanks Jessica for letting us borrow the Mickey Costume!

Fall Fun

Some good friends of ours, Chloe and Ryan, invited us over to carve pumpkins a few weeks ago. We had a bunch of fun and got some cool pumpkins too!

Mackay hard at work!

Henry provided the music :)

Chloe helped Henry carve his pumpkin!

So we had our first snow storm of the year and I was actually excited. I don't know what it is this year, maybe being pregnant through the summer, but I am so excited for the cold this year! Sadly the snow didn't even stay for the whole day. Maybe next time we can go out and play!

Isn't it beautiful!

We had a church Halloween party this year. We were not able to stay for too much of it but still had fun!

Pirate Mickey!

Henry and Daddy going on a hay ride!

Enjoying the hay ride.

The rest of these are just fun random pictures of normal day activities at our house :)

Julia "enjoying" Dad's homework :)

Henry's artistic take on Pocahontas.

Going for a Sunday stroll :)

This last Christmas there was a giant gift left on our doorstep from an unknown person or family. We opened it on Christmas and this awesome toy for Henry was inside. We were, and are, so grateful to the people who gave it! Since Henry was a little bit young for it we have been saving it. We recently decided it was time to bring out the toy. And let me tell you Henry LOVES it! I have never seen him play with a toy for so long. The first night we set it up he played with it for a couple of hours and did not want to do anything else! It has been great watching him play with this and playing with him! Thanks to whoever thought of us last Christmas and gave Henry such a sweet gift!

Life with Julia

Here is what life has been like since we have had Julia!

Working out with Daddy :)

Performing a song and dance for Mom.

Julia's favorite pose :)

All snuggled up!

Before. (You are looking at the pillow.)

After.

Snoozing in her favorite pose :)

Buddha feet.

Snuggling with Mom!

My little snuggle bug!

Best Friends!
The other day I was in cleaning Henry's room. When I came back into the living room, this is what I saw! These two chilling on the chair together! The really do adore each other and it makes me so happy! Henry is always trying to give Julia kisses and hugs. When she is crying Henry will sing her songs or say "it's ok Juila" over and over. Julia smiles every time Henry talks to her or gives her kisses. (As long as he is soft.) And she will only take a pacifier if Henry gives it to her.It is so much fun for me to see them interact!

Trying to figure out how to suck her thumb.

Looking through a "telescope"!

Linking arms!

Getting ready to paint! (But the paint was dried out.)

Henry asked me to take this picture so I figured I should include it :)

Welcome to the family Julia!

Well here is our newest bundle of joy!
Julia was born August 14, 2012 at 1:41pm weighing in at 7lbs 12oz and 19 inches long.

Here is the birth story, finally! I was scheduled to be induced at 5:00am. (Yes I know early, but hey I wanted her out.) We got there a little bit late but it was fine. Since it was close to a shift change they just got me changed and left us alone for a little while. After all the paperwork and stuff I started getting Pitocin around 7:00am. By 9:00am I had only dialted 1cm so I was now between a 3 and a 4. That may seem good to some people but after Henry I had high expectations for a quick delivery. My doctor came to the hospital to break my water and do his rounds around 10:00am. I had my epidural and was ready to have my water broke but the doctor had to go do a C-Section and wanted to wait to break my water until he was done with the surgery. He had remembered from Henry's delivery that I go really fast once my water is broke. (I was really impressed.) Mackay and I just continued to read The Fellowship of the Ring while we waited. He came back around 11:30am and broke my water. I went from a 4 to a 5 in an hour.  Mackay and I were both tired from getting up so early so we both took naps. At 1:30pm the doctor came to check on me because they were not picking up any contractions. ( We were asleep when he came in.) When the doctor checked he immediately went to the door and told the nurses he needed help with a delivery right now. Apparently Julia was crowning and I was going to have her right in the bed without the help of doctors and nurses. Julia was out and crying 11 minutes later! She was and is healthy and strong. We love you Julia!!!

Getting one of her Apgar test.

Waiting to meet his baby sister!

Can you tell how much he loves her?

Siblings!

My little family!

All of us together for the first time!
Julia and I right after birth!

Backhoes and Boys

The other morning we heard a bunch of noise outside our house. Henry loves to see the things that are making noise outside so Mackay took him out. To our surprise there was a backhoe and some workers doing sewage work. After Henry had watched for awhile the guy who was in-charge offered to let Henry get inside and see everything! He was such a nice man. So of course Mackay was just as excited as Henry and here are the pictures of their little adventure!

So the reason why Henry looks terrified is because he is. Haha poor little guy got scared by how big it was, or something, and was ready to get out and just look from a distance. But what a cool experience! Thanks Daddy for taking Henry in the Backhoe!
